Protocol Education is recruiting for a Specialist Learning Support Assistant in North Bristol to provide dedicated 1:1 support within a resource base. The role focuses on helping a pupil with complex SEND needs access learning, regulate emotions and feel confident in the classroom.
The successful candidate will be proactive, adaptable and passionate about SEND, working with teachers and the wider SEND team to build trust and positive relationships throughout the school day.
Some children need more than classroom support. They need someone in their corner. Someone patient, encouraging, and calm, even on the tricky days.
We’re working with a welcoming primary school in North Bristol looking for a full-time Specialist Learning Support Assistantto provide dedicated 1:1 support within their resource base.
This school supports a high number of pupils with complex SEND needs and is looking for someone experienced who understands the importance of consistency, trust, and building positive relationships. You’ll be supporting a pupil throughout the school day, helping them access learning, regulate emotions, and feel confident within the classroom environment.
The role would suit someone who’s proactive, adaptable, and genuinely passionate about supporting children with additional needs.
Due to the school’s location, driving is preferred. However, the school is accessible via train and bus routes.
This role is perfect for someone who understands that progress looks different for every child, and that sometimes the biggest achievement is helping a pupil feel safe, settled, and ready to give things a go.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
