Job summary

Warwick College Group is seeking a Specialist Learning Mentor to support identified students on a 1:1 and classroom basis within the College. You will work under the SEN Team Leader to adapt materials, promote independent learning with assistive tech, and help students reach EHCP outcomes.

You will also assist with EHCP reviews, liaise with tutors and parents where appropriate, and participate in Academy/Inclusion meetings while maintaining accurate progress records.

Qualifications

• English and Maths at Level 2 or equivalent.
• Qualification in Specific Learning Difficulties at Level 2 or above.
• IT skills: email, internet, and assistive technologies.
• Experience with Autism Spectrum Condition advised.
• Experience in liaison, advocacy and collaboration.
• Experience in 1-2-1 support and coaching learners.
• Understanding SEND Code of Practice (2014).

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 in-class or mentoring support as directed by SEN Team Leader.
• Assist lecturer with materials preparation/adaptation for named student.
• Promote independent learning using technologies.
• Act as key worker to help EHCP outcomes.
• Support EHCP Annual Review process with Specialist Support Lead.
• Monitor individual targets with tutors and PLAs.
• Communicate with parents where appropriate.
• Attend Academy and Inclusion Team meetings.
• Undertake training including Team Teach.
• Support work experience placements and school trips as needed.
• Maintain records and ProMonitor progress reviews.
