Job summary

Warwick College Group is seeking a Specialist Learning Mentor to support identified students in classroom, workshop and 1:1 settings. You will assist lecturers, adapt materials, promote independent learning, and help students meet EHCP targets within a safeguarding-conscious environment.

You will also contribute to progress reviews, liaise with tutors and parents when appropriate, and support exams and work placements as required.

Qualifications

• Demonstrate English and Maths skills equivalent to Level 2.
• A qualification relevant to Specific Learning Difficulties at Level 2 or above.
• Working knowledge of information technology such as e-mail, the internet and other software applications, including assistive technologies.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 in-class or mentoring support as directed by SEN Team Leader.
• Assist with preparation/adaptation of materials for named student’s use.
• Promote independent learning via technologies.
• Be a key worker for designated student to achieve EHCP targets.
• Support EHCP Annual Review process and progress reviews.
• Coordinate with tutors to monitor individual targets and progress.
• Contact parents where appropriate.
• Assist in exams as invigilator or support staff.
• Support student during work experience or trips as needed.
• Maintain records and ProMonitor entries.
