Job summary

TeacherActive Ltd, in partnership with King Edward VI College, is seeking a Specialist Support Assistant to support students aged 16–18 with SEN in Nuneaton. The role focuses on 1:1 classroom assistance, helping learners access the curriculum and participate confidently in lessons.

The successful candidate will differentiate activities, maintain a patient, proactive approach and work closely with staff to promote independence and academic progress.

Qualifications

• Must have 1:1 SEN support experience in education
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to differentiate activities for individual students
• Patient, compassionate and proactive approach
• Experience in supporting learners aged 16–18 with SEN

Responsibilities

• Provide tailored 1:1 classroom support to students aged 16–18 with SEN
• Help students access the curriculum and participate in lessons
• Differentiate learning activities and adapt support strategies as needed
• Build positive relationships with students and staff
• Contribute to inclusive learning and independent skills development
