Job summary

Warwick College Group is seeking a Specialist Learning Mentor to support identified students in classrooms, workshops and 1:1 settings, helping them achieve their EHCP targets and stay on track with progress reviews.

You will work with SEN teams, assist with materials, promote independent learning through technology, and attend academy meetings, while ensuring safeguarding and DBS checks are completed as part of pre-employment requirements.

Qualifications

• Demonstrate English and Maths skills equivalent to Level 2.
• A qualification relevant to Specific Learning Difficulties at Level 2 or above.
• Working knowledge of information technology such as e-mail, the internet and other software applications, including assistive technologies.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 in-class or mentoring support as directed by SEN Team Leader/SEN Specialist.
• Assist lecturer with preparation/adaptation of materials for named student’s use.
• Promote independent learning, particularly through technology; act as a key worker for designated student to meet EHCP outcomes.
• Support EHCP Annual Review and monitor student targets with tutors/PLAs; communicate with parents as appropriate.
