Overview

We are looking for thoughtful, compassionate and innovative Specialist Clinical Psychologists working into the NHS Children and Young People Gender Service (South West) - CYPGS SW, who will also work within wider Psychological Health Services.

CYPGS SW is provided by a large Multi-disciplinary team (MDT). As part of this team the specialist clinical psychologists will work to develop, deliver and evaluate interventions and the service. Psychologists working in the CYPGS SW are supported through supervision and along with the team will participate in training to develop knowledge and skills to deliver the work.

As well as providing services into CYPGS SW, specialist clinical psychologists will have other clinical and professional roles depending on skills, interests and service demands. This post offers opportunity for professional development and offers a variety of clinical work.

Psychological Health Services, which is an award-winning department, is recognised for a commitment to leadership and the development of Trustwide psychological services. As a university teaching trust, research and quality improvement forms part of UHBW\'s mission to support excellence in delivery of patient care, alongside education and applied research of the highest quality. To provide therapeutic services primarily into CYPGS SW, and also into paediatric medical and or surgical specialties involving direct and indirect clinical work.

To provide psychological services including assessment, formulation and implementation of psychological interventions for children/ young people, adults and their families.

To deliver these services in ward-based and out-patient settings as needed.

Provision of psychological advice, consultation, training, and support for other professionals working across this care pathway as assigned.

Support with development and evaluation of the services.

To propose changes for service development, guidelines and protocols relevant to psychological health across these care pathways, children, young people and vulnerable adults.
