Overview

Special Needs Teacher - Brent - ASAP Start

Monday to Friday - 9:30am to 2:30pm

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Special Needs Teacher to lead a small class of 7-9 children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). The students are primarily non-verbal and require a highly supportive and nurturing learning environment.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver engaging, individualised lessons that support the holistic development of each child.

  • Continuous planning throughout the year to adapt to the children\'s progress and needs (no formal marking required).

  • Implement effective strategies to encourage communication, independence, and personal growth.

  • Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, therapists, and the wider SEN team to ensure the best outcomes for students.

  • Maintain a safe, positive, and inclusive classroom environment.

Ideal Candidate
  • A qualified teacher (QTS/QTLS) with experience in SEN/ASD settings.

  • Skilled in supporting non-verbal learners, with knowledge of communication aids and strategies (PECS, Makaton, AAC beneficial).

  • Patient, creative, and resilient, with a genuine passion for helping children thrive.

  • Strong organisational skills to plan and adapt lessons continuously.
