Job summary

Axcis Education in Birmingham is recruiting a Classroom Assistant to join a specialist SEND school. You will support children and young people with a range of needs, including autism, ADHD, SEMH, speech and language difficulties, and learning disabilities, helping them engage in learning and achieve their individual goals in a safe environment.

Working with teachers and support staff, you will provide 1:1 and small group support, encourage communication and independence, follow EHCP targets, and

Qualifications

• Experience working with children, young people, or vulnerable individuals.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
• Full-time availability.
• Prepared to attend face-to-face interview with Axcis to demonstrate suitability.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEND.
• Support learning activities tailored to individual needs.
• Encourage communication, independence and social development.
• Promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing.
• Follow EHCP targets and support plans.
• Assist with personal care where required.
