Job summary

Axcis Education are seeking experienced teaching assistants to support a SEND school in North Birmingham, specialising in autism and complex needs. Roles include 1:1 support and small group work with children aged 4 to 19, following the class teacher's planning and feeding back on sessions.

Full-time, 8:15am–3:30pm, Monday to Friday, start ASAP. You will need to be highly resilient, able to manage challenging behaviour and work both independently and as part of a team.

Qualifications

• Experience in one-to-one support with pupils.
• Experience of working with pupils with complex ASD.
• Experience of working with individuals who display challenging behaviour.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one before starting.
• Minimum of 2 years of references.

Responsibilities

• Whole class support but working on a 1:1 or small group basis.
• Work on a 1:1 basis with a child with exceptional SEND needs who will display challenging behaviour.
• Work independently and as part of a team, following the teacher's planning and giving feedback on sessions.
