Job summary

Darlington County School District seeks an Exceptional Education Shadow for an 183-day position to support teachers and students at J.L. Cain Elementary School.

The role focuses on supervising and assisting in implementing instructional plans for students with special needs within general education settings. The candidate will help monitor behaviors, gather data for IEP goals, and coordinate with school staff to ensure a safe, supportive learning environment during school hours for the 2026-2027

Qualifications

• Associate degree or higher OR High School Diploma or equivalent with Ready to Work Credentials.
• WIN Assessment Silver Level 4 or Work Keys scores: Applied Mathematics 4, Reading for Information 4, Writing 4.
• ParaPro passing score (minimum 456) required or state-approved equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Act as mandated reporter to ensure student safety.
• Adapt classroom activities under teacher direction to support IEP goals.
• Assist with tests, homework, and make-up work to support student needs.
