The role supports teachers, assists in implementing plans, monitors student behavior, and communicates with school staff. Requires an associates degree or higher, or a high school diploma with Ready to Work credentials, WIN or Work Keys or ParaPro.

Qualifications

• Associates degree or higher required, or high school diploma with Ready to Work credentials.
• WIN, Work Keys or ParaPro credentials required or acceptable alternatives as determined by the Board.

Responsibilities

• Assist the teacher with supervision, care, and instruction of students with special needs.
• Implement plans for instruction, monitor behavior, and communicate progress to staff.
• Administer tests and support student needs in the classroom.
• Assist students with personal care and transitions as needed.
• Supervise students during activities and drills to maintain safety.
