TeacherActive is recruiting a SEN Teaching Assistant for a specialist SEND school in Darlington. The role involves 1:1 and small group support, assisting teachers with activities, and applying positive behaviour strategies to pupils with SEMH and additional learning needs.

Immediate start available, with both full-time and part-time options. The school supports pupils from KS1 to KS4 in a structured learning environment, focusing on confidence, independence and emotional wellbeing.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people with SEND, SEMH or challenging behaviour
• Experience providing 1:1 support or working with small groups of pupils
• Strong behaviour management skills and an understanding of positive behaviour support strategies
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive, trusting relationships with pupils and staff
• A patient, nurturing and resilient approach with a genuine passion for supporting young people with additional needs

Responsibilities
