Job summary

MDA Space is seeking a Software Engineer for our Manchester/Stevenage/Harwell offices in the UK. You will design and develop on-board and ground test software for payloads, working within an experienced team across Geointelligence, Robotics & Space Operations, and Satellite Systems.

This role emphasizes cross-functional collaboration, robust testing, and documentation. The ideal candidate has strong Python and C/C++ skills on Linux, with experience in Git/Jenkins and a track record of delivering

Qualifications

Experience in developing Python applications and modules.
Experience in developing C/C++ for systems using the Linux operating system.
Knowledge of Git, Jenkins and related development tools.

Responsibilities

Design and development of on-board software and ground test software for payloads.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver robust software.
Develop test cases and automate validation for software components.
Estimate resources for end-to-end software delivery to internal/external customers.
Document APIs and code for maintainability and integration with the validation team.
Travel to MDA/partner locations as needed to support project objectives.
