Job summary

MDA Space is hiring a Senior Software Engineer to join our UK-based team, with roles at Manchester, Stevenage, or Harwell. You will design and develop on-board and ground software for payloads, work with RF test equipment, and help drive robust software across the project lifecycle.

The ideal candidate has strong C/C++ and Linux experience, knowledge of device drivers, RF testing, and scripting with Python. Hybrid work options are available across UK sites.

Qualifications

• Experience in developing C/C++ for Linux systems.
• Knowledge of Linux kernel and device drivers.
• Familiarity with Git and Jenkins workflows.
• Experience with RF test equipment and high availability software.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop on-board software and ground test software for payloads.
• Collaborate with the team to derive software designs from requirements.
• Create tests and documentation to support development and validation.
• Estimate resources for end-to-end software delivery to customers.
• Communicate technical information clearly to teammates and validation.
• Travel to MDA/partner sites as needed.
