Job summary

MDA Space UK is seeking a Systems Engineer to design, integrate and test sensor and communication payloads for LEO, GEO and Lunar satellites. You will serve as a technical interface to customers and subcontractors, deriving requirements and developing system architectures.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in complex space systems, with optics/sensors experience and ECSS knowledge. Occasional travel to partner sites is expected.

Qualifications

• 5+ years experience in design, manufacture and test of complex technological systems.
• Experience with Space environments and ECSS standards.
• Hands-on experience of Manufacturing, Assembly and Test.

Responsibilities

• Providing a technical interface to customers and subcontractors.
• Capturing, deriving, and managing engineering requirements.
• Developing system architecture and concept of operations.
• Producing system budgets (power, mass, link, etc.) and interface definitions.
• Analyzing performance and justifying design choices.
• Assessing reliability, availability and maintainability (FDIR and FMECA).
• Planning test campaigns.
• Providing oversight to different engineering disciplines during design, integration and test.
• Troubleshooting hardware and software.
• Analyzing test data and writing test reports.
• Delivering verified flight equipment compliant to customer requirements.
