Job summary

MDA Space is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for our Manchester/Stevenage/Harwell offices. You will design and develop on-board and ground test software for payloads, collaborating with a proactive team to deliver robust solutions.

The role requires C/C++ on Linux, and familiarity with Git/Jenkins helps ensure quality across development, test, and documentation cycles. The position supports a hybrid work model across multiple UK locations, with occasional travel to partner sites as needed to

Qualifications

• Experience in developing C/C++ for systems using the Linux operating system.
• Experience with formal development, test, integration and documentation processes and tool sets, e.g., Git, Jenkins.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop on-board software and ground test software for payloads.
• Freely and proactively share knowledge with the team.
• Identify root causes, develop test cases, and provide robust solutions.
• Estimate resources for end-to-end solutions delivering product-level software to internal and external customers.
• Document APIs and code and communicate findings to the validation team.
• Willingness to travel to other MDA/partner locations to support project delivery.
