The Crown Blackheath, part of Shepherd Neame Limited, is seeking a Sous Chef with leadership potential to support the Head Chef and drive quality in a busy kitchen. This permanent role offers an immediate challenge and a clear path to progress to Head Chef.

We offer a permanent, full-time position in a historic pub setting, with flexible hours and opportunities to develop across Shepherd Neame’s pubs, Brewery, and Support Office.

Qualifications

• Experience as Sous Chef or similar leadership role.
• Ability to lead kitchen teams, maintain high standards.
• Commitment to quality, presentation and consistency.
• Proactive and able to work under pressure.

Responsabilités

• Assist Head Chef in managing daily kitchen operations and team leadership.
• Take responsibility for sections of the kitchen, ensuring dishes meet standards.
• Mentor and develop junior chefs, fostering a positive environment.
• Maintain high standards of hygiene, safety, and compliance.
• Contribute ideas for menu development and seasonal specials.
• Help with stock control, ordering, and kitchen organisation.
