Job summary

Upham Inns is recruiting a Sous Chef to support the Head Chef and management in delivering high quality, well presented dishes. You will work within your menus and recipes, manage rosters, train juniors and control stock with a focus on cleanliness and safety.

This full‑time position offers development and a clear pathway to Head Chef. We seek a strong leader with at least 1 year in a Sous or junior Sous role, excellent culinary skills and the right to work in the UK.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year experience as Sous chef or junior Sous chef.
• Excellent culinary and presentation skills.
• Right to Work in the UK.
• Able to lead and train junior chefs.

Responsibilities

• To work and support the Head Chef and management
• Experience working within company defined menus and recipes
• Manage staff rosters and allocation of work details
• Be able to fulfil training and growth of the team
• Be able to food order, stock control and correct storage of food stocks
• A Genuine desire to provide high quality food and service
• Maintain and manage the required high operational and personal standard of hygiene and presentation within the team at all times.
• Comply with all Food safety, fire, Health and safety, licensing and employment laws
