Job summary

The Broughton in Balterley, near Crewe, is looking for a Sous Chef to lead a busy kitchen and nurture a growing brigade. You’ll support the Head Chef, run shifts, plate to spec, and train team members to maintain high standards.

Here's what we offer:

• Up to £14.50 per hour (Approx. £1,860 every 4-weeks or £24,130 pa)
• Bonus of up to £1,500 a year – based on KPIs that are achievable and impactful
• Shared Service charge (Avg. £5,820 pa)
• Total Potential Package = £31,450 per year
• Part time – 32 hours a week: solid, regular hours with a better work-life balance
• A clear path to Senior Sous and Head Chef

The role

You'll support your Head Chef in running a busy, well-organised kitchen – leading shifts, keeping standards high and helping the brigade grow their skills.

What you'll be doing:

• Leading shifts and running the pass
• Cooking and plating our menus to spec, every time
• Training and supporting chefs and KPs
• Helping with ordering, stock rotation and food safety checks

What we're looking for:

• Experience as a Sous, Junior Sous or strong Chef de Partie
• Calm under pressure with a great team attitude
• A love of good food and high standards
• Ambition to keep progressing
