Job summary

The Orange Tree in Congleton is looking for a Senior Sous Chef to join our kitchen leadership team. You’ll work closely with the Head Chef and General Manager, running the kitchen when they’re away, developing the brigade and delivering food that keeps guests coming back for more.

Ready for the step before Head Chef? We're on the hunt for an awesome Senior Sous Chef to help us take off at The Orange Tree, Congleton!

The Orange Tree in Congleton is our family-friendly bar & grill – sharing plates, burgers, steaks and cocktails, with a warm Orange Tree welcome for families, date nights and groups. Our grill kitchen serves sharing plates, burgers, steaks and weekend breakfasts – fast-paced and full of flavour.

Here’s what we offer:

• Up to £15.23 per hour (Approx. £2,680 every 4-weeks or £34,830 pa)
• Bonus of up to £2,000 a year – based on KPIs that are achievable and impactful
• Shared Service charge (Avg. £6,860 pa)
• Total Potential Package = £43,690 per year
• Full time – 44 hours a week

The role

As a vital piece of our kitchen leadership team, you'll work closely with your Head Chef and General Manager – running the kitchen when your Head Chef is off, developing the brigade and delivering food that keeps our guests coming back for more.

What you'll be doing:

• Leading, training and inspiring the brigade
• Delivering our menus consistently, with meticulous attention to detail
• Supporting with ordering, stock, labour and food safety
