Job summary

The Orange Tree Congleton is seeking a Senior Sous Chef to join our busy kitchen and work closely with the Head Chef and General Manager. You’ll help run the kitchen, develop the brigade and deliver menus with energy and flair.

We’re a family-friendly bar & grill serving sharing plates, burgers, steaks and cocktails. Full-time, 44 hours per week, with a clear path to Head Chef and generous benefits.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Sous or Senior Sous Chef.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• A passion for great food and high standards.
• Ambition to progress to Head Chef.

Responsibilities

• Running the kitchen day to day and stepping up when the Head Chef is off.
• Leading, training and inspiring the brigade.
• Delivering our menus consistently, with meticulous attention to detail.
• Supporting with ordering, stock, labour and food safety.

Ready for the step before Head Chef? We're on the hunt for an awesome Senior Sous Chef to help us take off at The Orange Tree, Congleton! The Orange Tree in Congleton is our family-friendly bar & grill – sharing plates, burgers, steaks and cocktails, with a warm Orange Tree welcome for families, date nights and groups. Our grill kitchen serves sharing plates, burgers, steaks and weekend breakfasts – fast-paced and full of flavour.

Here is what we offer:

• Up to £15.23 per hour (Approx. £2,680 every 4-weeks or £34,830 pa)
• Bonus of up to £2,000 a year – based on KPIs that are achievable and impactful
• Shared Service charge (Avg. £6,860 pa)
• Total Potential Package = £43,690 per year
• Full time – 44 hours a week
• A clear path to Head Chef

The role

As a vital piece of our kitchen leadership team, you'll work closely with your Head Chef and General Manager – running the kitchen when your Head Chef is off, developing the brigade and delivering food that keeps our guests coming back for more.
