Job summary

Elsevier is seeking an engineer to design and develop scalable, high-performance applications using Java, JavaScript, Node.js, and React. The role involves building a robust identity and access management platform, ensuring code quality, and participating in agile delivery with GitHub workflows.

You will work on diverse data models, integrate with identity providers like Keycloak or Auth0, and use Docker/Kubernetes in a cloud environment (AWS).

Qualifications

• Proficiency with data manipulation languages and data modelling.
• Ability to work with complex data models.
• Proficiency in development languages including Java/J2EE, JavaScript, JSP, HTML, Node.js, React, XML, SQL.
• Experience with Keycloak, Auth0 or similar identity providers.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and Agile methodologies.
• Knowledge of test-driven development and code reviews.
• Knowledge of data storage subsystems.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with team members to translate requirements into software designs.
• Write and review detailed specifications for moderately complex components.
• Implement development processes, coding best practices, and code reviews.
• Operate in Agile or Waterfall environments and resolve issues.
• Keep abreast of new technologies and AI-assisted development tools.
