Job summary

Elsevier is hiring a Senior Software Engineer I to design and develop scalable Java and JavaScript applications. You will join the Identity & Access Management squad, building authentication and authorization infrastructure that serves Elsevier’s global product suite on AWS.

You will mentor juniors and contribute to cross-functional software products across multiple components, applying CI/CD and best practices.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Agile or Waterfall development methodologies.
• Experience with identity providers (e.g., Keycloak, Auth0) and OIDC.
• Proficient in Java/J2EE and JavaScript.
• Familiarity with cloud-based deployments (AWS) and CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate to finalize requirements and design complex components.
• Develop and review software across multiple modules.
• Implement CI/CD pipelines and improve deployment practices.
• Address operational requirements for logging and monitoring.
• Mentor junior developers and pair program to share knowledge.
