Job summary

Elsevier is seeking a Software Engineer III to design and develop scalable, high-performance identity platform components in Java and JavaScript. You will work on authentication, authorization, and integration with identity providers, building on AWS ECS and EKS, and contribute to AI-assisted development workflows.

You will participate in CI/CD pipelines, maintain code quality, and collaborate in an Agile environment while solving moderately difficult software problems.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Java/J2EE, JavaScript, JSP, HTML, Node.js, React, XML, SQL.

Responsibilities

• Interface with technical personnel to finalize requirements.
• Write and review detailed specifications for moderate complexity components.
• Collaborate with team to translate product requirements into software designs.
• Implement development processes, coding best practices and code reviews.
• Operate in Agile or Waterfall environments with stakeholders.
• Proficiency with GitHub workflows, pull requests, and issue tracking.
• Resolve technical issues and keep up with new technologies.
• Complete bug fixes and improve test coverage.
