Elsevier, a global leader in information and analytics, is seeking a Senior II Software Engineer to build cloud-hosted, distributed systems supporting researchers in publishing and AI-enabled workflows. You will design, develop, and deploy next-gen features while collaborating with stakeholders to refine requirements and delivery approaches.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Java, Spring/Spring Boot, a JS/TS tool (React/Angular), and SQL.
• Experience with build tools, Git, and CI/CD (GitHub Actions/Jenkins).
• Demonstrated collaboration with teams to deliver innovative solutions.
• Experience mentoring team members and sharing knowledge.
• Familiarity with alerting/monitoring/logging tools (New Relic/OpenSearch).
• Comfort with modern IDEs (IntelliJ/VSCode) and refactoring tools.
• Willingness to discuss and improve working practices.
• Experience with Jest, Mockito, and test-driven development.
• Experience with Jira/Confluence for documentation.
• Experience with Agile (Scrum/Kanban) practices.
• Exposure to cloud environments (Docker, Kubernetes, AWS).
• Interest in AI-based solutions and ongoing learning.

Responsibilities
