Job summary

Amazon London is seeking a Software Development Engineer for IAM Stores Security to design, build, and operate large-scale distributed systems handling security-relevant data with high availability and low latency.

You will own services end to end, mentor engineers, and collaborate with security and compliance teams to translate requirements into platform capabilities. A strong CS foundation and SDLC experience are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in professional software development (non-internship).
• Experience programming with Java, C++, or C# including object-oriented design.
• Experience designing or architecting scalable systems.
• Experience with full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control, build processes, testing, and operations.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate large-scale distributed systems that process security-relevant data with high availability and low latency.
• Own services end to end: architecture, implementation, testing, deployment, monitoring, and on-call rotation.
• Build libraries, integrations, and tooling that enable teams to adopt the platform.
• Work with large datasets; design data models, pipelines, and query patterns for speed and cost-effectiveness.
• Collaborate with security, compliance, and service-owning teams to translate requirements into platform capabilities.
• Contribute to technical direction: write design documents, lead reviews, and influence decisions.
• Mentor other engineers and raise the bar on code quality, security, and operations.
