Job summary

Amazon Inc. is seeking a Software Development Engineer to design, build, and operate large-scale distributed systems that process security-relevant data with high availability and low latency.

You will own services end to end, design libraries and tooling for engineers, work with big datasets, and partner with security, compliance, and service-owning teams to translate requirements into platform capabilities. Mentoring and on-call rotation are part of the role.

Qualifications

• Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C# including object-oriented design.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
• Experience designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems.
• Experience with full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.

A commitment to team work and strong communication skills (to both business and technical partners) are absolute requirements. Creating reliable, scalable, and high performance products requires exceptional technical expertise, a sound understanding of the fundamentals of Computer Science, and practical experience building large-scale distributed systems.
