Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Software Development Engineer for IAM Stores Security in London. You will design, build, and operate large-scale distributed systems handling security-relevant data with high availability and low latency.

You will own services end to end, from architecture through on-call rotation, and collaborate with security and compliance teams to translate requirements into platform capabilities. Mentoring and strong coding practices are expected.

Qualifications

• Experience in professional software development
• Experience with Java, C++, or C# and object-oriented design
• Experience designing or architecting large/ distributed systems
• Experience with full SDLC, code reviews, source control, testing and operations

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate large-scale distributed systems processing security data with high availability and low latency.
• Own services end to end: architecture, implementation, testing, deployment, monitoring, and on-call rotation.
• Build libraries and tooling to help Amazon engineers adopt the platform.
• Work with large datasets; design efficient data models and processing pipelines.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with security, compliance, and service-owning teams.
• Contribute to technical direction via design documents and reviews.
• Mentor engineers and raise code quality, security, and ops standards
