Job summary

Government Recruitment Service is seeking a Small Craft Surveyor - Engineer to join the Maritime and Coastguard Agency in Plymouth. You will survey and inspect small vessels, issue certification, and provide expert technical guidance to vessel owners and industry colleagues to ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards.

You will work with the Marine Office teams and report to the Technical Manager, contributing to a high-quality survey service that supports UK maritime industries.

Responsibilities

• Survey and inspect small and non-convention vessels to ensure compliance with UK and international standards.
• Issue certification and provide expert technical advice to vessel owners and industry colleagues.
• Lead survey and inspection activities in less complex cases, and mentor marine surveyors as needed.
• Support a first-class service by delivering accurate plans, investigations, and communications with stakeholders.
