Job summary

Balfour Beatty plc is seeking an experienced Site Supervisor to help lead safe, efficient delivery of civil works for Anglian Water projects. You will oversee on-site teams, manage direct labour and subcontractors, and ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards.

You will collaborate with Site and Construction Managers to plan, supervise, and drive progress while promoting best practice and a proactive safety culture across Anglian Water infrastructure schemes.

Qualifications

• CSCS Supervisor Card required.
• Proven experience supervising civil construction activities.
• CITB SMSTS or SSSTS qualification.
• First Aid at Work qualification.
• Strong health, safety, environmental and quality knowledge.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills; able to motivate teams.
• Strong planning, organisation and problem-solving skills.
• IT literate; proficient with digital construction tools and systems.
• Track record delivering projects safely, on time and to a high standard.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily site activities of operatives and subcontractors.
• Ensure works meet @one Alliance requirements, regulations, permits and method statements.
• Carry out site inspections, toolbox talks and pre-start briefings.
• Monitor temporary works, plant checks and site activities for compliance.
• Lead by example; promote near-miss reporting and good housekeeping.
• Drive quality by ensuring inspection and test plans are followed.
• Track and report progress; resolve issues impacting programme or budget.
• Coordinate plant, equipment and materials on site.
• Mentor site teams and encourage knowledge sharing.
• Build strong relationships with colleagues, subcontractors and customers.
