Job summary

Balfour Beatty plc is hiring an Assistant Site Manager for Anglian Water's one Alliance. The role is site-based in the Anglian Water region, supporting the Site Manager to deliver safe, compliant infrastructure projects.

You'll coordinate resources, monitor programmes, and drive performance while developing towards a Site Manager position. The role offers exposure to major capital schemes and a collaborative, DEI-conscious environment.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Site Supervisor or equivalent on medium-sized projects.
• SMSTS, CSCS card and First Aid at Work certification.
• Temporary Works Supervisor qualification and knowledge of construction techniques.
• Commercial and contractual awareness with experience of programme and resource management.
• Strong leadership, communication, planning and organisational skills.
• Ability to solve problems and manage conflicting priorities on site.
• Good IT skills and a full UK driving licence.
• Collaborative, improvement-focused approach with ability to coach others.

Responsibilities

• Support planning and delivery of construction activities across site.
• Coordinate labour, plant, materials and subcontractors.
• Monitor short-term programmes and progress, identifying risks.
• Carry out site inspections and ensure work meets specifications and SHEQ.
• Ensure RAMS, permits and site documentation are in place.
• Maintain accurate site records and support project changes.
• Build positive relationships with site teams, clients and stakeholders.
• Provide day-to-day leadership, coaching and deputising for Site Manager.
