Job summary

JPMorganChase is seeking a Lead Software Engineer focused on Site Reliability and Operations Excellence to own incident management, define reliability standards, and drive durable improvements across a complex production environment.

You will lead cross-functional collaboration with Engineering, Product, Infrastructure, and Security to prevent incidents and strengthen operational governance at scale.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts.
• Demonstrated experience improving operational processes in complex production environments.
• Strong knowledge of reliability engineering concepts including SLIs/Indicators, error budgets, and observability.
• Proven ability to influence across teams and communicate clearly in high-urgency situations.

Responsibilities

• Own and improve incident management lifecycle with measurable improvements.
• Act as Incident Commander for major incidents with clear stakeholder communications.
• Drive operational readiness via drills, game days, and failure-mode exercises.
• Define and enforce reliability standards including SLIs/SLOs, error budgets, and alert quality.
• Strengthen change and release management with readiness checks and rollback procedures.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver durable reliability improvements.
• Lead root cause analysis and durable remediation actions.
• Own reliability reporting and executive summaries of operational metrics.
• Facilitate reliability forums to drive accountability and learning.
