Site Manager / Senior Site Manager – New Build School Project (Start Jan 2026)

Overview

A fantastic opportunity has opened for an experienced Site Manager or Senior Site Manager to join a top-tier main contractor on a brand-new new-build school scheme starting in early 2026. This landmark project will run into 2027, offering security, progression, and the chance to play a key role on a flagship development in South West London.

The Role

Reporting to the Project Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of site operations on a ground-up new-build education facility. You will lead site teams, ensure safety and quality standards are maintained, and drive progress to meet programme milestones.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage daily site activities and coordinate subcontractors
• Ensure high levels of health & safety compliance across the site
• Monitor progress, quality control, and site documentation
• Assist with short-term programming and planning
• Conduct site inductions, toolbox talks, and safety briefings
• Maintain strong communication with the Project Manager and wider team
• Support client and stakeholder interface when required

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Site Manager or Senior Site Manager on new-build projects (£5m+)
• Strong main contracting background
• Experience within education or public-sector builds is beneficial
• SMSTS, CSCS (Black / Gold), and First Aid essential
• Strong leadership and organisational skills
• Availability to start January 2026 (interviews happening now)
