Job summary

RTL Group Ltd is seeking a Site Manager to lead a water treatment scheme in Preston. You will oversee tunnelling and shaft construction, manage day-to-day site activities, and ensure works meet programme and specification.

The role requires strong civil engineering background, CSCS Black/Gold card, and SMSTS with underground works experience. You will liaise with clients and stakeholders, manage RAMS and permits, and guide subcontractors to deliver safe, on-time milestones.

Qualifications

• CSCS Black or Gold card (UK) required.
• SMSTS certification required.
• Experience delivering tunnelling and shaft construction projects.
• Experience on water treatment or water infrastructure schemes.
• Strong civil engineering background.
• Experience managing specialist subcontractors and underground works.
• Knowledge of temporary works and deep excavations.
• IT literate and able to use standard software.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Lead toolbox talks and daily site operations.
• Liaise with clients and stakeholders to keep projects on track.
• Ensure health and safety compliance and RAMS management.
• Order materials and manage site documentation.
