Job summary

RTL Group Ltd is seeking a Site Manager for a national civil engineering water infrastructure scheme in Blackpool on a 6-month contract, with an immediate start.

The role covers tunnelling and shaft sinking, with a 7:00am–7:00pm schedule and weekend work when required to meet the programme.

Qualifications

• Black or Gold CSCS required.
• SMSTS required.
• Experience managing water infrastructure schemes.
• Experience delivering tunnelling, shaft sinking, or underground civil projects.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Flexible to work 7:00–19:00 and weekends when required.

Responsibilities

• Toolbox talks and site team supervision.
• Client and stakeholder liaison.
• Health and safety compliance.
• Ordering materials and managing day-to-day site operations.
• Supervising subcontractors and site teams.
• Delivery of tunnelling, shaft sinking and associated civil works.
• Ensure works delivered on programme and to specification.
• Managing RAMS, permits and temporary works.
• Overseeing quality control and site records.
• Supporting Project Manager with programme delivery and client reporting.

Job description

My client are a national civil engineering contractor who are currently seeking a Site Manager to help deliver a water infrastructure scheme in Blackpool, with an immediate start available. This is a 6-month contract involving tunnelling and shaft construction, making it an excellent opportunity for an experienced Site Manager with a strong underground civils background.

The role is 7:00am - 7:00pm, and candidates must be flexible to work weekends when required to meet the project programme.

Site Manager Requirements

• Black or Gold CSCS
• SMSTS
• Previous experience managing water infrastructure schemes
• Experience delivering tunnelling, shaft sinking, deep excavations, or other underground civil engineering projects
• Strong civil engineering background
• Flexible to work 7:00am - 7:00pm and weekends when required
• IT literate
• Full UK driving licence
