Job summary

The role requires strong civil engineering background, SMSTS, CSCS Black/Gold, and a full UK driving licence, with IT literacy and a keen focus on health and safety.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Lead toolbox talks and coordinate day-to-day site operations.
• Liaise with clients and stakeholders to report progress and issues.
• Ensure health and safety compliance and quality control on site.
• Order materials and manage RAMS, permits, and temporary works.
• Supervise subcontractors and site teams and coordinate tunnelling activities.
• Ensure works are delivered on programme and to specification.
• Support the Project Manager with programme delivery and client reporting.
• Oversee inspections and maintain site records.

My client are a national civil engineering contractor who are currently seeking a Site Manager to help deliver a major tunnelling scheme in Ipswich, with an immediate start available. This is an excellent opportunity to join a specialist team delivering complex underground infrastructure works on a long-term project.

Site Manager Responsibilities:

• Toolbox talks

• Supervising subcontractors and site teams
• Coordinating tunnelling activities and associated civil engineering works
• Ensuring works are delivered on programme and to specification
• Managing site documentation, RAMS, permits, and temporary works
• Overseeing quality control, inspections, and site records
• Supporting the Project Manager with programme delivery and client reporting

Site Manager Requirements:

• Black or Gold CSCS
• SMSTS
• Previous experience managing tunnelling or major civil engineering projects
• Experience with shaft sinking, SCL, TBM, pipe jacking, or microtunnelling would be advantageous
• Strong civil engineering background
• IT literate
• Full UK driving licence
