Job summary

Tilbury Douglas is offering a Summer Placement Engineer role on a site in Yorkshire. You will gain hands-on experience in operational project delivery, learn how projects are engineered and delivered, and work with site teams across multiple project sites.

Ideal candidates are pursuing a Civil/Structural/Building Services Engineering or Construction Management degree and may have some site experience. The placement emphasizes mentoring, practical learning, and progression within a live project

Qualifications

• Currently studying towards a degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Building Services Engineering, Construction Management or a related built environment discipline.
• A full UK driving licence, or working towards obtaining one by Feb 2027.
• Strong problem-solving and practical/logical approach.
• Good written and verbal communication skills for engaging with a wide range of people.

Responsibilities

• Assist with day-to-day management of site operations to ensure works are delivered safely and on programme.
• Understand how construction and engineering works are carried out safely, efficiently and to required standards.
• Contribute to setting out, surveying and engineering control activities on site.
• Support preparation and review of method statements, risk assessments and quality documentation.
• Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers and site teams; attend planning meetings and progress reviews.
