Tilbury Douglas, a leading UK building, infrastructure, engineering and fit-out company, invites applications for a Summer Placement Engineer in South Wales. You’ll work with site teams on live projects and gain hands-on experience in engineering and construction management.

You'll learn from experienced professionals, develop practical skills, and see how projects are engineered, managed and delivered, while supporting safety, quality and programme objectives.

Formación

• Currently studying a degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Building Services Engineering, Construction Management or related field.
• Full UK driving licence or working towards obtaining one by February 2027.
• Strong problem-solving and practical, logical approach.
• Good written and verbal communication; able to engage with diverse stakeholders.
• Collaborative mindset with willingness to learn and take on responsibility.

Responsabilidades

• Assist with day-to-day management of site operations, ensuring works are delivered safely and on programme.
• Develop understanding of construction methods, safety, and quality standards.
• Contribute to setting out, surveying and engineering control activities on site.
• Support preparation and review of method statements and risk assessments.
• Observe and coordinate subcontractors, suppliers and site teams.
• Attend planning meetings and progress reviews.
• Support site logistics, temporary works and sequencing of construction activities.
• Work with design, commercial and operations teams to resolve technical challenges.
• Produce and maintain site records and documentation.
• Understand commercial processes and how programme and cost influence delivery.
• Gain exposure to modern construction methods, sustainability and digital tools used to manage projects.
• Build relationships with project teams, clients, consultants and supply chain partners.
