About the role

As the Site Electrical Manager at our Nottingham Site, you will take ownership of all aspects of Electrical Engineering. This includes developing and implementing electrical strategies, ensuring legal compliance, maintaining business continuity, and driving the strategic development of electrical systems. You will lead, coach, and support a team of System Engineers and Electrical Competent Persons, overseeing site electrical maintenance and project engineering activities. Your focus will be on delivering against key performance indicators that enhance overall site performance.

Your responsibilities
  • Lead, coach, and develop the electrical engineering team, fostering engagement, succession planning, and capability enhancement.
  • Implement and maintain an effective electrical training program across the site to meet compliance requirements and build technical expertise.
  • Provide leadership and mentoring for system engineers and electrical specialists, ensuring strong collaboration internally and externally.
  • Ensure full legal compliance with all electrical standards, including Electricity at Work Act 1989, Reckitt Global Health & Safety Standards, and Global Environment Energy Management Standards.
  • Develop and maintain site electrical standards, conduct compliance assessments, and lead corrective action planning.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives in energy efficiency, renewable energy adoption, and sustainability targets.
  • Oversee electrical system strategy, maintenance, and procurement to ensure reliability, compliance, and cost‑effectiveness.
  • Support business continuity planning and provide technical expertise for strategic projects and electrical risk assessments.
The experience we’re looking for
  • Proven experience in managing and leading engineering or maintenance teams.
  • Strong understanding of pharmaceutical manufacturing, packaging operations, and factory services equipment.
  • Expertise in electrical systems and distribution across large‑scale facilities.
  • Knowledge of utilities equipment and energy management strategies.
  • Proficient IT skills, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and planning software.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Solid commercial acumen with experience in budget control, procurement, financial systems, and supplier relationship management.
  • Awareness of emerging technologies and ability to identify improvement opportunities.
Qualifications
  • Time‑served and ideally hold a HNC/HND in Electrical or Electronic Engineering.
  • High Voltage Authorised Persons Certificate.
  • IOSH Electrical Safety certification.
  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
  • CompEx – Responsible Person accreditation.
