Job summary

Sodexo is hiring a Site-Based Cleaning Operative in Gateshead. You will maintain high cleanliness standards across the site, supporting health and comfort for residents and staff at each location.

This role offers training, a focus on safety, and the chance to work in a controlled environment with vulnerable individuals. Great teamwork and reliability are essential.

Qualifications

• Age 18+ with valid ID.
• Experience in cleaning is desirable; training provided.
• Good customer service and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Focus on the details and complete a list of scheduled cleaning tasks.
• Periodic deep cleaning of certain areas, as instructed by supervisor.
• Ensure all areas, including kitchens, toilets, and communal areas, are cleaned and presentable.
• Replenish stock and consumables such as toilet tissue and hand soaps.
• Work closely with the security team, reporting any faults or hazards, while helping maintain cleanliness of their areas.
• Be approachable and team-oriented.

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Site-Based Cleaning Operative to join our team at National Probationary Service, Cuthbert House AP, Derwent Water Road, Bensham, NG. In this role, you'll play a key part in maintaining high standards of cleanliness across the site. Your efforts will directly contribute to the health, hygiene, and comfort of the residents and staff at each site. Approved Premises play a key role in supporting individuals released from prison, offering enhanced supervision and rehabilitation within the community.

This role will give you insight into working in a residential setting with vulnerable and complex individuals, providing meaningful work that supports positive change.

What you’ll do

• Focus on the details and complete a list of scheduled cleaning tasks.
• Periodic deep cleaning of certain areas, instructed by supervisor.
• Ensure all areas, including kitchens, toilets, and communal areas, are cleaned and presentable.
• Replenish stock and consumables such as toilet tissue and hand soaps.
• Work closely with the security team, reporting any faults or hazards, whilst also helping maintain the cleanliness of their areas too!
• This role requires you to have an approachable attitude.

What you bring

• Previous experience in a similar role, with knowledge of cleaning solutions and their uses is desirable, but not essential—our great training will ensure you are fully trained in all areas of health and safety!
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work at a fast pace and adapt to change when needed.
• Be a team player and take instruction.
