Overview

We have an opportunity for a Sister - Charge Nurse to join their team of staff in the Critical Care Team. This is a full‑time role for 37.5 hours a week. The role holder will be required to cover a flexible shift pattern.

Responsibilities
  • Provide hands‑on clinical care, acting as a senior point of support for complex or deteriorating patients.
  • Coordinate daily clinical activity and ensure safe staffing levels, skill mix, and continuity of care.
  • Promote high standards of nursing practice through supervision, coaching, and role modelling.
  • Allocate and supervise staff during shifts, ensuring responsibilities are clearly defined and patient needs are met.
  • Support the development, appraisal, and competency assessment of junior nurses, HCAs, and students.
  • Contribute to the induction and ongoing development of new staff, ensuring adherence to clinical standards and policies.
Qualifications
  • Registered Nurse (Adult) with valid NMC registration.
  • Significant post‑registration experience in an acute or relevant specialty.
  • Experience in leading and supervising a team within a clinical environment.
  • Strong clinical decision‑making, communication, and coordination skills.
  • Commitment to high standards of patient care and professional development.
