Job Description

Reporting to the Technical Superintendent you will undertake maintenance and repairs, on location, of our growing fleet of CTVs around the UK with work tasks ranging from minor equipment replacements to removing and installing engines. You will work with crewmembers and colleagues across the sites to ensure the ongoing availability of the CTV fleet.

Key Duties
  • General vessel maintenance, inspection and repairs.
  • Engine changes (Engine types include: MTU, MAN and Volvo Penta)
  • Gearbox changes (including Twindisc and Servogear).
  • Fault-finding and repairs of vessel electrical, hydraulic and heating systems.
  • Work closely with the crews to understand their problems and train them to service/ check their vessel.
  • Travel and work away from home at multiple sites around the UK and occasionally Europe
  • Take a flexible approach to working hours and to work in accordance with operational requirements (including in the event of breakdowns/emergency repairs).
  • Demonstrate and maintain expected QHSE standards whilst working on any of our vessels, on any sites, and promote a positive safety culture.
Skills and experience
Essential
  • Demonstrable previous experience in a service engineer role
  • Previous experience working on high-speed engines
  • Ability to complete diagnostic checks and in-depth fault finding
  • Fluent in written and spoken English
  • Excellent team player and a proactive mentality
  • Strong problem-solving and organisational skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Full, valid driving license
Desirable
  • Experience with MTU and Volvo engines
  • Preferred L3 Diploma/NVQ Engineering or equivalent
  • Previous experience in a marine related role
