Job summary

Ardagh Glass Ltd. in Wrexham is seeking a Shift Technician to join the Production Team. You will maintain critical plant machinery and support both front-end and back-end equipment to ensure efficient operations.

The role requires an apprenticeship or equivalent in engineering, plus experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. A 12-hour shift pattern of 4 on/4 off (2 days/2 nights) is offered with a pension and incentive scheme.

Qualifications

• A time-served apprenticeship or equivalent in an engineering discipline.
• HNC in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• Previous experience in a similar role within a fast paced, high volume manufacturing environment.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• A flexible, action‑orientated approach with a genuine desire to achieve results.
• Willingness, with appropriate training, to support other areas of the business when required.
• Competent in the use of Microsoft Office applications (e.g. Word, Outlook).

Responsibilities

• Running and maintaining both front-end and back-end equipment.
• Conduct regular quality checks and changes including neck diameter changes.
• Participate in overhauls, project work and plant service maintenance.
• Achieving production targets, implementing spoilage controls and maintaining housekeeping standards in line with 6S.
• Adhere to health and safety protocols.
