Job summary

Ardagh Metal Packaging in Wrexham is seeking a Technical Operator to join the Production Team. You will help keep production lines running safely and efficiently, collaborating with Process Leaders and the Shift Management team to meet performance goals.

The role requires an NVQ L3 in Electrical/Mechanical engineering, strong English, and experience with production machinery. You will follow safety policies, perform quality checks, and contribute to continuous improvement across the line.

Qualifications

• NVQ L3 or equivalent in Electrical/Mechanical engineering.
• Strong command of English, both written and spoken.
• Solid knowledge of Health and Safety practices.
• Experience working on production machinery.
• Attention to detail with ability to take corrective actions.
• Able to work as part of a team and also on own initiative.

Responsibilities

• Ensure Health and Safety compliance and policies are followed.
• Maintain safe working practices and comply with legal and environmental checks.
• Report and support safe repairs to equipment when required.
• Operate can manufacturing equipment to meet KPI targets.
• Undertake GT100 and limited GT200 tasks to standard.
• Keep equipment in condition to maintain quality and minimise downtime.
• Carry out quality checks and address non-conformities with the team.
• Use SPC tools to ensure process integrity.
• Maximise production and minimise spoilage.
• Maintain exemplary housekeeping and safe plant conditions.
• Operate ancillary equipment such as forklifts after training.
• Perform hygiene, painting, and housekeeping duties as required.
• Support size and diameter changes.
• Communicate effectively with management and colleagues about issues and improvements.
