Job summary

DHL Supply Chain in Northampton is seeking an experienced Shift Manager to lead the NUMS operation, covering warehousing, distribution, returns and garment management. You will drive service levels, safety, and customer satisfaction while guiding a team to achieve KPIs and cost efficiencies.

The role requires strong leadership, data-driven decision making and a continuous improvement mindset in a fast-paced logistics environment.

Qualifications

• Essential: proven experience in warehouse, logistics or supply chain operations leadership roles.
• Leaders who enjoy managing teams, developing people and creating an engaged, high-performing culture.
• Confident using WMS systems, analyzing KPI data and managing performance against KPIs.
• Strong customer focus, stakeholder management skills and the ability to respond effectively to changing priorities.
• Continuous improvement mindset, ideally with Lean, Six Sigma or operational excellence experience.

Responsibilities

• Coach, develop and support managers and operational colleagues to drive engagement and high performance.
• Maintain high standards of Health & Safety compliance through audits, investigations and safe working practices.

• Lead continuous improvement initiatives and identify opportunities to reduce waste and enhance operational effectiveness.

This Shift Manager role within DHL Supply Chain's National Uniform Management Services (NUMS) operation is responsible for leading shift activity across warehousing, distribution, returns and garment management, ensuring operational excellence, safety, customer satisfaction and continuous improvement.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Lead and manage day-to-day shift operations, ensuring service levels, KPIs and customer expectations are achieved.
