Job summary

DHL Supply Chain is seeking a Warehouse First Line Manager in Milton Keynes. You will lead a warehouse team, ensuring safe, efficient operation and timely order processing.

The role involves monitoring performance, coaching staff and managing day-to-day activities on site. You will need prior warehouse management experience, strong communication skills, knowledge of H&S requirements, and familiarity with WMS and MHE operations.

Qualifications

• Previous warehouse management experience (First Line Manager/Shift Manager/Team Leader) is essential.
• Experience with Inventory Management disciplines is desirable.
• Knowledge of Health & Safety requirements.
• Excellent communication skills - verbal and written.
• Knowledge of MHE operations and licences desirable.
• IT literate with WMS and Microsoft packages.

Responsibilities

• Directly assist management by reporting on and monitoring effectiveness of warehousing activities and performance in your area.
• Supervise and coordinate productivity by communicating job expectations to direct reports, ensuring deadlines are met safely and to standards.
• Track and trace orders using the in-house tracking software and keep records up to date.
• Deliver team member performance reviews and assist with development and succession planning.
• Support briefing activities such as performance appraisals, briefs, PD boards, disciplinaries and grievances.
• Ensure shift is managed in line with Health & Safety legislation and company procedures.
• Assist with resource planning, interview processes and inductions for new starters.

Shift patterns: Any 5 from 7 - Tuesday to Saturday (07:00am - 15:00pm)

Contract Type: Permanent (Full-Time) - Overtime not payable

A TYPICAL DAY MAY INVOLVE

• To directly assist management by reporting on and monitoring the effectiveness of all warehousing activities and performance in your designated area
• To supervise, implement and coordinate productivity by communicating job expectations to direct line reports, ensuring that all deadlines are safely met within allocated time frames, while always maintaining standards of excellence
• To track and trace orders using a digital in-house tracking software system, ensuring that records are maintained and kept at optimum level
• Deliver team member performance reviews (1-2-1's), development and/or succession planning as appropriate
• Support and contribute towards briefing activities such as performance management appraisals, comms zone briefs, PD boards, disciplinaries and grievances, informal / formal conversations
• Ensure shift is managed in line with Health & Safety legislation and company procedures
• Support with resource planning, conducting interview and inductions for new starters
