Responsibilities

• Coordinate the team to deliver the easiest shopping trip in the community
• Opening/closing the store and completing duty cover, ensuring decisions are right for customers, colleagues, and safety
• Being the go-to person for colleagues in the absence of the Store Manager for day-to-day operational queries
• Support the Store Manager to coordinate seasonal, community and charity events, creating a great inclusive atmosphere
• Make sure the store is clean, tidy, and well presented
• Prioritise replenishment of products that matter to our customers
• Ensure price labels reflect what good looks like
• Take immediate action for any overcharges and prevent recurrence
• Proactively manage queues in store to deliver a great shopping trip for our customers
• Co-ordinating colleagues, ensuring they deliver daily priorities and have their breaks at the right time to fit around trade patterns
• Be knowledgeable about the store, coordinate others to deliver practical actions to make improvements
• Follow health and safety routines and ensure colleagues do the same
• Deliver communication to the team, ensuring they are kept well informed
• Look for ways to simplify operations and share ideas with the Store Manager
• Always put the customer first and consider them in everything I do
• Be readily available to resolve customer queries, leaving them with a smile
• Adjust the service to meet customer needs
• Recognise and celebrate colleagues giving great service
• Understand what may hinder great service and help remove obstacles
• Resolve colleagues' queries in the absence of the Store Manager, or escalate as needed
• Ensure the store is staffed appropriately, arranging cover for short-term absences/sickness
• Be a recognised Keyholder for the store, attending alarm call outs to ensure safety and security
• Monitor and act on internal comms, ensuring messages are actioned promptly
• Coordinate colleagues to meet customer needs and store operations, feeding back issues to the Store Manager
• Balance time across service and replenishment areas
• Support Store Manager in managing absence and conduct return-to-work interviews
• Build meaningful relationships with Area Manager & People Partner, seeking advice and coaching when needed
