Responsibilities

• Coordinate the team to deliver the easiest shopping trip in the community.
• Open/close the store and complete duty cover, ensuring customer and colleague safety.
• Be the go-to person for colleagues in the absence of the Store Manager.
• Support events and maintain a welcoming atmosphere for all.
• Keep the store clean, tidy and well presented; prioritise replenishment.
• Ensure POS and shelf labels reflect best practice and pricing.
• Manage queues in store to deliver a great shopping trip.
• Coordinate breaks and daily priorities around trade patterns.
• Lead practical improvements and share ideas with the Store Manager.
• Follow health and safety routines and drive compliance.
• Communicate effectively with the team and keep everyone informed.
• Look for ways to simplify operations and share ideas with management.
• Put customers first and adapt service to individual needs.
• Resolve customer queries promptly and leave customers with a smile.
• Recognise colleagues delivering great service and celebrate success.
• Remove obstacles to delivering excellent service.
• Resolve or escalate colleague queries in the Store Manager's absence.
• Ensure appropriate staffing and cover shifts when needed.
• Act as a recognised Keyholder for store security.
• Monitor internal comms and ensure timely action by colleagues.
• Coordinate colleagues to meet customer needs and relay issues to the Store Manager.
• Balance time between service and replenishment areas.
• Support absence management and conduct return-to-work interviews as required.
• Build relationships with Area Manager and People Partner to escalate issues timely.
