Job summary

One Stop Stores Ltd is seeking a proactive Shift Leader to manage daily store operations in a fast-paced environment. You will lead a team, open and close shifts, and ensure a safe, welcoming shopping experience for customers.

You will drive service improvements, coach colleagues on on-the-job performance, and coordinate with the Store Manager to deliver seasonal events and stock priorities while maintaining store presentation and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the team to deliver the easiest shopping trip in the community
• Opening/closing the store and completing duty cover, ensuring customer and safety needs are met
• Act as go-to person for colleagues in the absence of the Store Manager
• Support the Store Manager with seasonal, community and charity events
• Ensure the store is clean, tidy and well presented
• Prioritise replenishment of customer-relevant products
• Maintain accurate POS and shelf edge labels
• Address overcharges and prevent recurrence
• Manage queues to deliver a great shopping trip
• Coordinate colleagues to meet daily priorities and breaks
• Be knowledgeable about the store and drive practical improvements
• Follow health and safety routines and ensure compliance
• Deliver clear team communications and keep staff informed
• Suggest operational simplifications to the Store Manager
• Always prioritise customer needs and resolve queries promptly
• Recognise colleagues delivering great service
• Identify and remove obstacles to service quality
• Resolve colleague queries or escalate to the Store Manager
• Ensure appropriate staffing and cover for absences
• Act as a Keyholder and respond to alarm calls
