Job summary

One Stop Stores Ltd is seeking a Shift Leader to coordinate a store team and ensure a smooth shopping experience for customers. You will handle opening/closing, safety, and daily queries in a fast-paced retail environment.

You will lead by example, maintain store presentation, manage queues, and work closely with the Store Manager on seasonal events and improvements, while upholding core values and inclusion.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the team to deliver the easiest shopping trip in the community.
• Opening/closing the store and completing duty cover, ensuring customer safety.
• Be the go-to person for colleagues in the absence of the Store Manager for daily queries.
• Support the Store Manager to coordinate seasonal, community and charity events, creating an inclusive atmosphere.
• Ensure the store is clean, tidy and well presented.
• Prioritise replenishment of key products for customers.
• Ensure POS and shelf labels reflect correct pricing and displays.
• Manage queues and deliver a great shopping experience for customers.
• Coordinate colleagues to meet daily priorities and breaks around trade patterns.
• Be knowledgeable about the store and drive practical improvements.
• Follow health and safety routines and ensure colleagues do the same.
• Deliver clear communication to the team and keep them informed.
• Suggest operational improvements to the Store Manager.
• Put customers first and tailor service to meet needs.
• Resolve customer queries promptly and leave them satisfied.
• Balance service and replenishment across store areas.
• Assist the Store Manager in managing absence and return-to-work interviews.
